acrylic on canvas, 2010; 12″h x 12″w

A past president of TAWA, Girandola participated in the TAWA–Soviet Art Exchange in 1989 by building crates for the 100-piece exhibit and ensuring it got to Moscow and back. Girandola is a painter and sculptor working in mixed media, acrylic, oil, and bronze. He has participated in many juried shows over the years including twice in the prestigious Art of the Northeast. Girandola’s most notable work is “We Draw Strength From Each Other,” a bronze memorial currently on permanent display in Engine 6, NYC. This piece honors four fire fighters from Engine 6 who lost their lives in the attack on the Twin Towers. Girandola’s work is in both public and private collections.

“I may not always be making a painting or doing a sculpture, but I’m always thinking of such.”
